Programs
The AMA Alliance is dedicated to promoting and supporting the medical community in which we live and offers invaluable grassroots program opportunities for states, counties, leaders and members. The following program areas are designed to address several critical issues affecting the family of medicine and child health and safety, such as legislative advocacy, health promotion and fundraising.
Screen Out!
The "Screen Out" campaign, launched by the AMA Alliance in October 2006, is a nationwide effort to take smoking out of youth-rated movies.
Physicians-in-Training Host Program
Through this program, fourth-year medical students are provided housing as they interview for residency, in an effort to help students cut down on interviewing costs, get to know the community surrounding their potential residency program and introduce them to the local medical society and Alliance.
Advocate for Good Health
The AMA Alliance offers valuable resources and tools to help meet local legislative concerns and prepare programs that build healthy communities.
Fundraising
The AMA Alliance is deeply committed to fund-raising for the foundation and has been successful with its effective grassroots fundraising efforts. Alliances on the state and county level organize various fundraisers that contribute nearly $1 million annually to the foundation.
