The AMA House of Delegates approves the organization of a woman's auxiliary; 24 women from 11 states attend the organizational meeting, at which Mrs. Samuel Clark Red, Texas, becomes the first president, and Mrs. Southgate Leigh, of Virginia, is elected vice president.
1923
Sixty women from 17 states attend the annual meeting; dues are set at $5 per state.
1924
Sixty dollars in treasury; committees are constitution nominations, policies, education, finance, legislation, and entertainment.
1927
First Bulletin printed; membership reaches 6,000; first AMA Liaison Committee appointed; first presidential address to AMA House of Delegates.
