Disaster Preparedness

There are checklists, tips and historical examples of how being prepared helped in past crises. - American Red Cross - Preparedness for terrorism attacks, blackouts, floods and other natural disasters, including instructions for creating a Disaster Plan, being ready with emergency food and water supplies and tips on helping children cope with disasters after they occur
- Prepare.org (by the American Red Cross) - Disaster preparedness materials for seniors, children, people with disabilities and animal and pet owners
- Ready.gov (by the Department of Homeland Security) - Provides checklists and preparedness kits for businesses, families and a special section for children to get involved
- ED.gov (U.S. Department of Education) - Provides a Complete Crisis Planning Guide for Schools and Communities to help prepare schools for a crisis
